Ministry of Education (MOE) refer to an article by Academic from Subang Jaya published in THE STAR newspaper dated 21 June 2010 on the issue of – “Examinations should be more discriminating”
However, the Examinations Syndicate begs to differ with the views expressed by ACADEMIC. In 2009, 406,420candidates from government schools sat for the SPM. 49.6% or 199,155 candidates scored a pass in all subjects. However of that number only 7,987 (1.96%) secured As [A+, A and A-] in all subjects. This is a personal achievement for the candidates and the ministry is proud to share in their success.
